What T-Bact 2% Ointment is used for

• Impetigo and infected eczema
• Infected cuts and small wounds
• Boils and folliculitis
• Clearing MRSA from the nose

How it works

Mupirocin blocks a bacterial enzyme needed to make proteins. It is particularly effective against staphylococci, including many resistant strains, and is used only on the skin.

Common side effects

• Burning or stinging
• Itching
• Dryness
• Redness

Most side effects are mild and settle as your body adjusts. Tell your doctor if any of them persist or trouble you.

Safety advice

Quick tips

• Apply a thin layer 2 to 3 times a day for no more than 10 days
• Wash your hands before and after
• Spreading redness, fever or swelling means you need oral antibiotics
