What Rosuvas 10 Tablet is used for

• High LDL cholesterol
• Prevention of heart attack and stroke
• After a heart attack or stent
• Familial high cholesterol

How it works

Rosuvastatin blocks the liver enzyme that makes cholesterol. The liver responds by pulling more LDL cholesterol out of the blood, which stabilises the plaques in the arteries.

Common side effects

• Muscle aches
• Headache
• Nausea
• Constipation or loose motions
• Raised liver enzymes

Most side effects are mild and settle as your body adjusts. Tell your doctor if any of them persist or trouble you.

Quick tips

• Take at the same time daily; it can be taken morning or night
• Report unexplained muscle pain or weakness, especially with dark urine
• Do not stop it because your cholesterol has normalised — that is the medicine working
