What Norflox-TZ RF Tablet is used for

• Urinary tract infections
• Bacterial diarrhoea and dysentery
• Prostate infections
• Often combined with tinidazole for gut infections
• Amoebic dysentery and liver abscess
• Giardiasis
• Bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis
• Dental infections

How it works

Norfloxacin

Norfloxacin blocks bacterial DNA gyrase. It concentrates in the urine and the gut, which is where it is mainly used.

Tinidazole

Tinidazole damages the DNA of anaerobic bacteria and parasites. It lasts longer in the body than metronidazole, so courses are shorter.

• Nausea
• Loose motions
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Sun sensitivity
• Metallic taste
• Loss of appetite
• Dark urine

Most side effects are mild and settle as your body adjusts. Tell your doctor if any of them persist or trouble you.

Safety advice

Quick tips

• Take on an empty stomach, 1 hour before or 2 hours after food
• Keep antacids, iron and milk 2 hours away
• Drink plenty of water
• Avoid alcohol during and for 3 days after the course
• Take with food
• Sexual partners may need treatment too in trichomoniasis
