What Levotas 500 Tablet is used for

• Pneumonia and bronchitis
• Sinus infections
• Complicated urinary tract infections
• Skin infections
• Part of drug-resistant tuberculosis regimens

How it works

Levofloxacin blocks the bacterial enzymes needed to copy DNA, killing a wide range of bacteria including those causing pneumonia.

Common side effects

• Nausea
• Loose motions
• Headache and dizziness
• Insomnia
• Sun sensitivity

Most side effects are mild and settle as your body adjusts. Tell your doctor if any of them persist or trouble you.

Quick tips

• Keep antacids, iron, calcium and zinc at least 2 hours away from the dose
• Drink plenty of water
• Stop and seek advice for new tendon pain, tingling in the hands or feet, or marked anxiety
