How it works

Phenylephrine

Phenylephrine constricts the swollen blood vessels in the lining of the nose, which shrinks the tissue and opens the airway.

Chlorpheniramine maleate

Chlorpheniramine blocks histamine receptors and readily enters the brain, which is why it dries secretions well but also causes drowsiness. It is a standard ingredient of cold combinations.
