What Amitone 10mg Tablet is used for

How it works

Amitriptyline increases serotonin and noradrenaline and blocks several other receptors. At low doses it is used mainly for nerve pain, migraine prevention and sleep rather than depression.

• Drowsiness
• Dry mouth
• Constipation
• Weight gain
• Blurred vision
• Dizziness on standing

Most side effects are mild and settle as your body adjusts. Tell your doctor if any of them persist or trouble you.

• Take it a few hours before bed — taking it too late causes morning grogginess
